Lori Williams is interviewed on an Internet Radio show describing a harrowing night she spent while trapped at 13,000 feet.

For many of you who have personally met Lori Williams, you have probably listened to stories about her backpacking and mountain climbing adventures. When Lori is not working with clients to develop growth strategies at her firm, LW and Associates or teaching classes and writing summaries for

Business Simply Put, she is out somewhere deep in the wilderness beyond where normal folk would desire to go. Lori has already climbed many of the 14,000 foot peaks in the Sierra Nevada mountain range, this year adding Mount Whitney to the list. Although the views were spectacular, Lori found the terrain to be too simple and easy for her taste citing Split Mountain as being much more exciting, having to climb a gulley filled with loose rock and then traverse through Class 3 rocks before reaching the final 300 foot climb to the summit. As Lori's adventurers increased with intensity, she recognized the need to advance her skill level. Last year she became certified in wilderness first aid and has taken numerous lessons in rock climbing and winter travel.

One trip in particular turned out to be a little bit more exciting than even Lori had bargained for and required the use of all the skills that she had learned thus far. It is this adventure that has landed Lori an interview on an Internet radio show, more known for interviewing traditional sports figures involved in football, baseball and basketball

Preparing for a rough 2009
The Vernon Chamber of Commerce recently hosted Jack Kyser, Sr. VP and Chief Economist from the LAEDC to presented an economic forecast, which he titled “Any Light at the End of the Tunnel?” The ensuing data would suggest that the answer to this question is “no” or perhaps that the light is actually an oncoming train. However, it was not all negative news and as we know every challenging situation also presents opportunity. Below is an overview of California’s economic environment for 2008-2009.
Job growth in LA County from September 07 to September 08 was in negative territory except for health services, government, leisure and hospital, and education (private), with health services experiencing the greatest amount of job growth with 8.6%. The worst performing sectors for job growth between September 07 and September 08, were retail, construction, finance/insurance, with retail seeing the greatest decline at -11.6%.

Business Simply Put launches new products and services through a website portal, aimed at helping small businesses while providing marketing opportunities for service providers.

Business Simply Put is registered trademark and a division of LW and Associates. Business Simply Put offers business professionals access to business intelligence on key topics specific to small and medium-sized companies. This includes a wide variety of forums, such as classes, seminars webinar, teleseminars, and products such as electronic downloadable summaries and special reports.

Business Simply Put was founded in 2007 by Lori Williams, Chief Strategist of LW and Associates. Lori recognized the need for sound, simplified business wisdom. By combining experience, expertise and technology, she designed products and services affordable to smaller companies.“Much of the existing business information is either too basic, written for the beginning entrepreneur or geared toward corporations using sophisticated language and case studies from large entities”, says Lori as she explains the underlying concept. “A business leader must first decipher the meaning and then modify the application to their company size.”  Don S. Matso, Founder of The Valere Group had this to say about Business Simply Put, "The accessibility, format and content of the Business Simply Put website provides an excellent resource for the owners and managers of small to mid-sized businesses, particularly so in today's challenging times."

Business summaries provide readers with a quick study addressing key issues and organization-wide concerns. Summaries include a brief overview defining the topic, a list of actionable items that can be applied immediately and a listing of additional resources for further study. Summaries are topic specific but general in nature therefore offering a system-wide application. They are short in length (average 5-10 pages), and follow a standard outline format for ease of use.

Special Reports provide an in-depth analysis centered on a main topic or theme. They are narrowly defined by scope, offering the reader a thorough understanding of the subject matter including key principles and ideology. They may include historical data, case studies and other research statistics. Special reports are less restrictive, written in manuscript format rather than simple outline. They vary in length but average 10-50 pages, including footnotes and references.

Business Simply Put has recently expanded its contributor base to offer marketing opportunities to business professionals who are experts in their field and discipline. To respond to a growing need for business wisdom, which is “real-time and applicable” Business Simply Put has extended its teaching and writing opportunities to this large untapped resource pool. These professionals, having spent years navigating the complexities of their industry, have developed a unique understanding of the inherent characteristics, processes and obstacles. Moreover, they provide a unique perspective, an insight into the inner workings of an industry which may not be apparent form the outside. Business Simply Put carefully selects experts based on their subject knowledge and ability to maintain the integrity of the “Business Simply Put” process of information delivery.
